Private Health Insurance

Almost all private health insurance funds offer rebates for Exercise Physiology, Dietitian and Physiotherapy services. It is advised to contact your fund to determine your level of cover.

*All AEP clinics have HICAPS facilities, enabling on the spot claiming of one on one consultations on your private health insurance.

Medicare Individual sessions

If you have a chronic medical condition and/or complex care need, you may be eligible to receive a limited number of allied health care services via a Medicare Chronic Disease Management Plan (Team Care Arrangement).

*AEP utilise Medicare Online, and bulk bill for this Medicare service if the appropriate referral and paperwork has been received.

Medicare Group sessions

If you have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, you may be eligible for an initial consultation and 8 supervised group sessions each calendar year, via the Medicare Type 2 Diabetes Group Program.

NDIS

AEP is a registered NDIS service provider and deliver a range of services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). We focus on individual’s abilities and strengths, rather than things they aren’t able to do. By utilising the multidisciplinary team of Exercise Physiologists, Physiotherapists and Dietitians we find ways to help maintain or increase independence and achieve health and wellbeing goals, along with activities of daily living (ADL) goals.

Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA)

If you are an eligible Veteran with a DVA White or Gold card, you may be able to access Exercise Physiology, Dietitian and/or Physiotherapy services to treat a specific medical condition upon suitable referral from your GP or Specialist.

Referral Requirements: Your Doctor may either use a D904 Request / Referral Form, or their own stationary/letterhead, provided it contains the following information:

  • Veteran’s name
  • Veteran’s DVA file number (shown on the Repatriation Health Card)
  • Condition to be treated must be stated
  • Description of the requested service
  • LMO’s name and provider number and
  • Date of referral
  • For referral to any health care provider, it is the LMO’s responsibility to provide the above information about a veteran to ensure that the provider understands the veteran’s medical history and to allow the provider to claim payment from DVA.

Worker’s Compensation

AEP Health Group are a recognised Return To Work SA provider that pride themselves on regular and open communication with the worker, case managers and other treating health professionals. AEP deliver a comprehensive range of services for injury management and physical rehabilitation. If a physical conditioning program is required for a successfully return to work, a referral from a GP or Physiotherapist can initiate the process.
